Synergy among Agricultural Sector Lead Ministries in the Transformation of Tanzania’s Agriculture (SATTA)

Project Background information

Synergy among Agricultural Sector Lead Ministries in the Transformation of Tanzania’s Agriculture (SATTA)

In Tanzania, an average growth rate for the agriculture sector is on a decrease. Thus, poverty reduction strategies should focus on improving the sectors that employ majority of the population. Poverty is more prevalent in rural Tanzania where agriculture is the main economic activity for at least 60% of the population. Agriculture Sector Development Programme (ASDP) was formulated to improve agriculture production through a combined effect of priority interventions implemented across the Agriculture Sector Lead Ministries (ASLMs). Therefore, SATTA project uses ASDP I and II to asses on how the ASLMs interact in the planning, implementation, and Monitoring and Evaluation of ASDPs’ priority interventions in the transformation of Tanzania’s agriculture.
