On 12th October 2024, the Sokoine University of Agriculture Centre for African and International Languages (SUACAIL) conducted a one-day training workshop on scientific proposal writing for English language teachers from the TELTA Morogoro chapter. The workshop was facilitated by Prof. Hashim I. Mohamed, Dr. Onesmo S. Nyinondi, and Dr. Job Mwakapina, and it focused on equipping participants with skills to effectively respond to calls for conferences. 24 teachers (25%) female, participated in the workshop.
The workshop provided comprehensive guidance on key aspects of writing successful proposals, including formulating clear research objectives, developing coherent abstracts, and structuring proposals to meet specific requirements. Participants were also introduced to techniques for identifying relevant calls for proposals and tailoring their submissions to different academic and professional conferences. This practical training empowered English language teachers with valuable tools to enhance their academic and professional development.
