Tumaini Allan

Professional biography

Dr. Tumaini Allan works at the Sokoine University of Agriculture in Morogoro, Tanzania as a lecturer since 2008. She holds a Ph.D. (Rural Development), MSc. (Natural Resources Assessment and Management), and a BA (Geography and Environmental Studies). Her works and interests focus on Human geography, mainly in natural resources assessment, human settlement and ecology, climate change, Geodatabase development, and gender-responsive approaches to the use and management of natural resources. Specific areas of competence include Natural resources assessment and management; monitoring, evaluation, and impact evaluation of gender-sensitive development projects or programs; gender analysis in control and use of natural resources, policy analysis and climate change and livelihood linkages. Dr. Tumaini Allan has over 10 years of experience in researching and evaluating development projects in agriculture, natural resources and rural development fields. Currently, she is leading a project “Space-Time Analysis to Uncover the Nature and Complexities of Farmer-Herder Conflicts in Kilosa and Mvomero Districts, Tanzania: A Geodatabase Development”.
