Suzana Samson Nyanda

Professional biography

Suzana is employed as a Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Policy, Planning and Management at Sokoine University of Agriculture, Tanzania. She holds  PhD in Public Policies, MA in Rural Development and BSc. in Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness. She also attended some short courses on project planning, research methodologies and policy analysis. Her areas of expertise include economics, policy analysis and project management. She has involved in various research projects such as SaWaFo, Timber Rush, CREPEE, RIPAT-SUA, SATTA,  INIKA_OH_TZ,  Agroecology Hub in Tanzania and INTERACT Africa.  Suzana has appreciable skills to serve as a consultant, moderator  and rapporteur.

  • July 2023-June 2027: Project Coordinator at SUA for the project titled “Interventions for improved knowledge and awareness of antimicrobial resistance using a One Health approach in Tanzania (INIKA_OH_TZ)”.
  • May 2022-April 2025: Team member. Mitigating the spread of Antimicrobials and Resistant Microbial Pathogens through Treatment of Manure in Tanzania
  • May 2022-April 2025: Team member. Optimizing Vaccination and Biosecurity Regimes to Enhance Fight Against Antimicrobial Resistance in Commercial Poultry Production in Tanzania
