From March 18th to 24th, 2023, representatives from the Department of Language Studies (DLS), namely Dr. Onesmo Nyinondi, Dr. Job W. Mwakapina, and Dr. Hashim Mohamed, participated in two consecutive conferences held in Portland, Oregon, USA. The conferences served as platforms for presenting their research papers.
The first conference, organized by the American Association of Applied Linguistics (AAAL), focused on Applied Linguistics. It took place from March 18th to 21st, 2023, at the Marriott Hotel in Portland. The theme of the AAAL conference revolved around “Collaborating and Mentoring in Applied Linguistics.” During this event, the DLS members presented findings of an international collaborative research project with Ms. Renee Lynch, a researcher from the University of Washington, USA. Together, they shared their experiences of working on a joint research project at Sokoine University of Agriculture, a Tanzanian university. Read More..
