The centre for gender studies (CGS) was established in the prospective college of social sciences and humanities following the university wide restructuring processes.
The centre’s overall aim is to address gender related challenges within the university and beyond. The centre envisage to become the institutional home in which all gender related issues and challenges affecting the university will be coordinated.
The centre is involved in conducting research and studies on gender issues, organising and coordinating gender debates of national and internal interests as well as linking up with national and international gender affiliate people, institutions ad organisations.
The centre focus on conducting academic research in gender issues of national and international interests, conducting short course training as well as offering non degree gender related courses (Certificate and Diploma).
