BIO FOR HALIMA O. MANGI
Halima is a Lecturer, researcher and consultant in the Sokoine University of agriculture (SUA). She holds a Ph.D. in Environment Studies majoring in Environmental Planning and Management which was awarded by the Kenyatta University, Nairobi Kenya in 2021. She also holds a European Masters of Applied Ecology awarded by University of Kiel, through Erasmus Mundus Program, and a Bachelor degree in Wildlife Management awarded by the Sokoine University of Agriculture.
Her expertise’s are on Socio-Ecological System Analysis. Her research interest are on Ecosystem and Ecosystem Services Assessment, Climate Change, Climate_smart Agriculture, Land use/cover changes, Environmental Impacts Assessment, Nature based Solutions, Freshwater Ecology, Fisheries, Ecological Anthropology and Politics of anticipation of ecosystems.
She have recently been involved on conducted several researches including the analysis of Eco-hydrological dynamics of the Nyumba ya Mungu Dam Catchment and its influence on fisheries productivity, Gender analysis of climate change vulnerability to community livelihoods in Tanzania using qualitative approach, Multinational corporations’ impact on global sustainable development, and Tanzania’s Food production and Supply and Sustainability of Tourism Sectors; Opportunities and Constraints
She also have been involved in several consultancy services some of which have gender aspect, such as evaluation of a project in improving livelihoods of rural communities in semi-arid Central & Southern highlands of Tanzania, through increased income & food security (PROJECT NO. No A-TZA-2016-0141), Baseline Survey on Water resource, Land and Natural management, Food Security and Renewable energy at Sumbawanga Cluster between June, and August, 2016, and poverty monitoring Initiatives – COVID-19 Collective (Project No. p000299).
